Dakota Bar & Grill is located in the heart of downtown Calgary on Stephen Avenue Walk across from Bankers Hall. Dakota Bar & Grill operates out of the historic Venini Building; a structure with walls adorned with historical photos.

The Venini Building was built in 1912 and was originally used as a warehouse on Stephen Avenue.
George D. Venini, having arrived in Calgary in 1906, bought the building in 1927. It was a warehouse and he added a second floor to be primiarily used for office space.
George D. Venini is pictured in the dining room in jacket and tie fly fishing in the Bow River west of Calgary. He was an avid outdoorsman enjoying bird hunting and fly fishing. George had a successful life and passed away in 1975 at the age of 93.
His son John G. Venini, after serving in Europe in the Second World War, returned to Calgary and also enjoyed a successful business career. John was a builder of apartment buildings and houses and successfully integrated the Venini building into the TD Square shopping center. John is also pictured in the dining room with his brother as toddlers on a camping trip to Banff that took two days in those days. John passed away in 2007 at the age of 89.
All steaks served are Triple 'A' Alberta Beef, aged 28 days, from local producers.
All burgers served are made from premium Angus Alberta ground beef.
Our buns and bread are fresh baked daily and all dairy is freshily produced.
All fried foods are cooked in premium, cholesterol free, trans fat free, 100% canola oil.
Dakota Bar & Grill serves the best food, in big portions, and served in a timely fashion.
We boast white table cloth quality at reasonable prices.
We still serve a full 20oz pint of beer, 1 1/4 oz highballs, and a 6oz glass of wine.
